Wines of texture & aromatic complexity. But they don’t fit comfortably into what we’ve decided wine is divided into: white, red. Maybe rosé; maybe ‘orange’, if we’re on-trend and live in my neighborhood.
Let’s put color aside for a moment. The seasons are changing. The weather is unpredictable. The produce at the market is at an inflection point. So, for that matter, is the country. Here are some wines that I think are perfect for this indeterminate time of year. Wines that have a history to them that predates our silly lines in the sand: ‘red, white.’ This is the tasting for you, if you’d like to taste what you’ve been missing out on by thinking wine could only be a couple of different ways.
